Ogee washers are large cast iron washers used generally in dock and wood construction. The term Ogee refers to curved shape. These washers appear oversized and they have a comparatively larger bearing surface that is designed to check bolt heads & nuts from pulling into the timber. ASTM A48 covers Gray Iron Castings which includes Ogee washers as well.
