The three piece trunnion mounted ball valve has been designed three piece body type and with two floating seats, which are movable under the pressure of medium. And three piece ball valves are produced with spring-loaded seats. This spring load keeps the seat in contact with the ball even in absence of line pressure and makes very efficient seal at low line pressure. As line pressure increases, the seat area creates a piston effect which forces the seat against the ball, therefore a tight seal becomes effective. If the pressure is higher, the force exerted by the seat on the ball is increased by action of the pipeline pressure. Therefore, the higher the line pressure, the greater the piston action. Seats are available in PTFE, R-PTFE, NYLON or others.
Trunnion mounted stems absorb the thrust from line pressure, preventing excess friction between the ball and seats, so even at full rated working pressure, operating torque stay low.
The trunnion ball valve is equipped with a movable seat seal ring which can generate displacement under the pressure of medium. In case that any medium pressure exists, the pressure will press the valve seat seal ring onto the ball tightly, guaranteeing the sealing performance of the ball valve. The body cavity may be vented in both open and closed state.

Structural characteristics of flanged trunnion ball valve:
1. trunnion ball design is adopted. Self-lubricating material with minimal friction coefficient is used in relative moving parts, so the operating torque is small. In addition, the long-term sealing of sealing grease makes the operation more flexible.
2. The valve adopts high platform structure and ISO5211 connection standard, which can make the installation of electric/pneumatic actuators more professional.
3. Adopting full-diameter or shrinkage design, the flow resistance is small.
4. Metal sealing O-type trunnion ball valve adopts bidirectional metal movable sealing structure, which has the functions of automatic compensation and self-cleaning, and has excellent sealing performance.
5. Trunnion ball design and pre-tightening spring are added to make the ball valve have the function of automatic pressure relief.
6. Each ball valve has two movable seats, which can be sealed in both directions. Therefore, the flow direction of medium should not be considered in installation.
7. It has a fire-proof and anti-static structure. Conductive springs are arranged between the valve stem and the valve body and between the valve stem and the sphere to avoid igniting the flammable medium by electrostatic sparking. Ensure system security.
8. Dual protection of refractory structure. In case of fire damage to the sealing ring, all sealing parts of the ball valve can form metal-to-metal hard sealing structure.
9. Automatic relief structure. When the liquid medium in the valve chamber is gasified due to the increase of temperature, and the pressure in the middle chamber is abnormally increased, the medium in the middle chamber can automatically relieve pressure by pushing the valve seat by its own thrust, thus ensuring the safety of the valve.
